PracticeMatch is excited to partner with Owensboro Health to assist residents and fellows in their passion and drive to care for others. The Owensboro Health Empowered Physician Scholarship has been founded in partnership by PracticeMatch and Owensboro Health to award physicians in training who exhibit community involvement and dedication to caring for others.
This scholarship may help offset the high cost of education for a current resident or fellow.
The ACGME has established six areas of measurement of a resident's ability. These include:
- Practice-Based Learning and Improvement
- Patient Care and Procedural Skills
- Systems-Based Practice
- Medical Knowledge
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Professionalism
To enter, submit your CV and an essay (less than 500 words) that describes how you have developed your abilities, specifically focusing on the domains of Professionalism and Interpersonal & Communication Skills. The winner of this scholarship will receive $2000 to be put toward their education.

CRITERIA
Scholarship essays will be judged on the student's ability to express and validate his or her view, rather than on whether PracticeMatch agrees with the student's view. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate, and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the value of caring for others through a medical career. -
JUDGES
Leaders from PracticeMatch and Owensboro Health who have a close appreciation of the value and impact of healthcare providers in their community and across the nation. -
