WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide a combination of Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care and Family Medicine and join our team located at Franciscan ExpressCare in Valparaiso, IN.


WHAT WE NEED:

The ideal candidate will have experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care and Family Medicine. Candidate will have ACLS/BLS certifications and will be able to see all patient types. Must be certified/willing to become certified to conduct US Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME).


Ideal candidate should be proficient in:

  • Reading basic x-rays of all body parts

  • Laceration repair/wound care

  • Initial ECG interpretation

  • Willing to obtain DOT certification

  • Urgent evaluation and treatment of potentially critically ill patients and the appropriate transport of these patients to the closest Emergency Room Department


WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Clinic Hours:  Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • Flexible full-time schedule

  • No Call Expectation

  • Average outpatient volume: 30+ patients per shift, depending on season

  • Common Procedures:  

    • Exposures 

    • Lacerations 

    • Musculoskeletal injuries

    • Pre-employment, DOT, and Non-DOT physicals

    • Sprain and Strains 

    • Suturing, willing to learn

  • On-site Equipment:

    • EKG

    • POCT

    • Hospital Radiation Department

    • CT Department

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree - Required

  • Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) – Required - or

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Nationally Recognized Certification - Required

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required
