Pediatric Anaesthesia Associates PSC, located in Louisville, Kentucky, currently is recruiting multiple physicians to join its growing metropolitan practice.
Candidates have a unique opportunity to join this well-established private practice group that is affiliated with University of Louisville School of Medicine. Currently, the practice includes 15 physicians, 15 certified registered nurse anesthetists, two sedation nurse practitioners and three preoperative nurse practitioners.
Pediatric Anaesthesia Associates is the exclusive provider of pediatric anesthesiology services at Norton Children’s Hospital, a verified Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons. The hospital offers a 101-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. Norton Children’s Hospital was ranked the No. 1 Best Children’s Hospital in Kentucky for 2023-2024 by U.S. News & World Report, and is nationally ranked in six pediatric specialties.
In addition to supporting Norton Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Anaesthesia Associates provides daytime coverage for two pediatric outpatient surgery centers at Norton Children’s Medical Center and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Opportunities Available:
General Pediatric Anesthesiologist
- Perform anesthesia services for the entire spectrum of pediatric patients from prenatal/neonatal consultation through adolescence.
- Support inpatient and outpatient surgery at Norton Children’s Hospital, as well as outpatient surgery at Norton Children’s Medical Center and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
- Collaborate with surgeons, neonatologists, pediatric critical care specialists, emergency medicine specialists, pediatric hospitalists, pediatricians, gastroenterologists and other specialists in a system of comprehensive pediatric care.
Cardiac Anesthesiologist
- Collaborate with Norton Children’s Heart Institute, affiliated with UofL School of Medicine, the only comprehensive pediatric heart surgery, heart failure and transplant program in Kentucky with outcomes that rival similar programs in the region.
- Provide anesthesia services for more than 230 heart surgeries annually, including heart transplants, almost 400 cardiac catheterizations and 126 electrophysiology procedures.
- Work alongside a specialized team of providers consisting of four congenital cardiac anesthesiologists, 23 board-certified pediatric cardiologists, two pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 13 advanced practice providers and additional cardiovascular-specific support staff.
- Support patients requiring the highest level of cardiovascular care in the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, which has 17 private rooms offering advanced monitoring and facilities specific to the care of neonates through adolescents.
- Participate as a key member on a pediatric cardiac surgical team that completes procedures such as complex congenital heart surgeries, heart transplants and left ventricular assist device placement.
- Be part of a team leading pediatric cardiovascular care innovation for the region, including completing the first Micra leadless pacemaker implant in a pediatric patient in Kentucky, and using intraoperative heart mapping and a microvascular plug.

About the Positions
- Physician-owned private practice, with an academic affiliation with the University of Louisville School of Medicine
- Provide coverage at Norton Children’s Hospital as well as two pediatric outpatient surgery centers
- Opportunity to practice 100% pediatric anesthesia, including 80% supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists and residents, and 20% solo cases
- Call split across the group and can be taken from home
- Guaranteed post-call day off
- Salary in the top 70th percentile nationally, with sign-on bonus and opportunity for annual quality incentive bonus
