Community Description
Dyer is a town in St. John Township, Lake County, Indiana. Located
roughly 30 miles from downtown Chicago on the Illinois and Indiana
border. Dyer is home to many delicious restaurants that also offer
weekly entertainment. Some travel to Dyer to see the historic Meyer's
Castle, built in the 20th Century, which sits on 10 acres of the town's
highest ground. Many people know Dyer from traveling on Lincoln Highway
which takes you through the town. The historic highway, "Ideal
Stretch" was the first paved road in Indiana. It was part of Carl
Fisher's vision for the Coast to Coast Rock Highway.
