Physician - Infectious Disease - Hospital Epidemiologist & Director Infection Prevention

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is an academic medical center consistently ranked the #1 hospital in New Hampshire by U.S. News and World Report. We are seeking an exceptional Hospital Epidemiologist and Staff Physician to join the clinical team in the Section of Infectious Disease and International Health within the Department of Medicine. This individual will have dedicated time devoted to serving as Director of the hospital’s Infection Prevention program and will provide expertise in infection prevention activities and programs at DHMC. This professionally rewarding position includes opportunity for collaboration and research with the Value Institute, the Analytics Institute, and The Dartmouth Institute. There are also opportunities to teach a wide variety of learners in an academic medical environment and at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. The ideal candidate should have:

• Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases (and be board certified/board eligible by their start date)
• Experience in hospital epidemiology and infection prevention
• Training in healthcare epidemiology through programs offered by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (or equivalent)
• Graduate level education (or other public health training) in epidemiologic methods
• An interest in data analysis and process improvement

The Section of Infectious Disease and International Health at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center consists of fifteen faculty members and ten fellows, along with associate providers, nursing staff, research and administrative staff.  The clinical services of our Section include hospital-based and outpatient consultations for the full spectrum of infectious diseases of adults and children, an International Travel Clinic, a comprehensive Infection Control Program, an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, an Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy program, and a Regional HIV Program.
