Pediatric Hospitalist
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a full-time board certified/board eligible physician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills and an interest in academic medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical, educational and quality improvement initiatives within the Division. Mastery of skills such as professionalism, team-based care, medical complexity care, and effective communication are mandatory. The Division is made up of 38 physicians and 6 hospital medicine fellows. Physicians in the Division hold a wide variety of leadership roles throughout the institution, including in the areas of Graduate Medical Education, Medical Administration, Medical Informatics, Evidence Based Practice, and Ethics. Our division supports the individual professional desires of each partner while supporting the well-being of the individual personally as well.
The clinical practice is primarily at our tertiary care facility described below. There are opportunities at various times of year to work at our CMH community site also described below.
Children’s Mercy Hospital is an urban, tertiary care/academic children’s hospital with full pediatric medical/surgical support. Our faculty provides two distinct types of clinical service:
Children’s Mercy Kansas is a unique, free-standing community children’s hospital located 12 miles southwest of Children’s Mercy Hospital. The hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with lower acuity than our main campus. Clinical service on this campus offers a complementary clinical experience, featuring a professionally stimulating, direct interaction with pediatric professionals in our busy on-site pediatric emergency department, as well as in our community referral area.
Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience.
