The College of Medicine (COM), Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) at The Ohio State University, is searching for a candidate for a Research Faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor or Research Professor.
The successful candidate should have expertise in health services research, comparative effectiveness research (CER), or a related field, along with a record of funded research and peer-reviewed publications. The primary appointment will be in the College of Medicine, and the position will maintain a close collaborative relationship with the College of Public Health (COPH).
The core responsibility of the faculty member will be to direct expansion of the research program within GIM, working collaboratively with GIM investigators and clinicians, other investigators in the COPH, and other faculty in the COM.
In fulfilling this responsibility, the candidate will be able to draw on the considerable clinical resources including care delivery to a large, diverse patient population, faculty resources of the COPH, with its specializations in health services management and policy, epidemiology, biostatistics and health behavior and health promotion. The candidate will also benefit from GIM’s active local and national collaborative clinical research partnerships [e.g. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Programs (Comprehensive Primary Care Plus and Million Hearts Model) and the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Network partnership with the OSU Center for Clinical and Translational Science].

Ongoing GIM research focuses on a wide variety of topics pertaining to patients with complex chronic disease with an emphasis on CER and patient oriented research (POR). The research mission of the GIM is to harness the resources of its clinical laboratory to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary CER and POR that furthers understanding of evidence-based interventions for patients with complex chronic disease. This applied research will aid GIM in driving care innovation within a multi-faceted healthcare delivery system, not only for interventions contained within the outpatient system but also those that transcend care transitions (e.g. hospital to outpatient, pediatric to adult).
