Chief Health Information Officer.
This key system leader will develop a comprehensive informatics strategy and identify opportunities for technological innovation and digital transformation while providing visionary leadership to the Informatics team.
About the job:
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer for Dartmouth Health, this position requires direct and continuous interfacing with all levels of the organization, including close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer, the Vice President for Analytics, the Chief Technology Officer, Vice Presidents for Health Systems Applications, clinical leadership, operational leadership, and others. Daily activities are both strategic and operational, focused on ensuring the effective use of data and technology to improve healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and organizational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading design, implementation, and use of clinical informatics solutions.
- Providing expert informatics guidance and oversight.
- Providing overall leadership for the System’s Clinical Informatics teams.
- Ensuring patient safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Overseeing EHR standards and implementation.
- Ensuring patient and clinical involvement in system planning and evaluation.

Minimum qualifications:
Qualified candidates must hold a medical or osteopathic degree (MD or DO). Board certification in Clinical Informatics and advanced training in Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in Clinical Informatics in a healthcare setting, including significant time working with Epic software, is required
Candidates will need to show evidence of strong strategic planning, project management, and leadership skills. Experience working in a non-profit healthcare organization and at an academic medical center with close ties to community hospitals is preferred.
Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to Dartmouth Health’s headquarters in Lebanon, NH, and willingness to continue in part-time clinical practice is preferred.
