Hospitalist Medical Director

As a Hospitalist Medical Director with USACS, you’ll be responsible for managing hospitalist medicine services by collaborating with the hospital and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff.  As a leader for both the hospital and US Acute Care Solutions, you will influence broad company decisions and help facilitate the development of new leaders.

Details

• Oversee hospitalist service operations
• Supervise HM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
• Represent the staff in the community and within the hospital

• 124-bed community hospital
• Sister site of Reston Hospital and team works on both sites
• Comprehensive range of medical services, including a full-service, 24/7 emergency department and extensive diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology capabilities

• ED Volume: 20,000
• ED Beds:15
  • 16-bed behavioral health unit
• ED Admission Rate: 13%
• Staffing Model: Single provider, APP shift per day
• EMR: Meditech
• Special equipment/highlights/details include 24/7 in-house ob-gyn, anesthesiology, hospitalist, CT, excellent lab turn around times
• 20% of patients are PED
• Qualifications: board certified/ eligible

• Average daily census of 27 patients
• Open ICU with on-call Intensivist, no procedures required
• Five full-time physicians and two full-time APPs
• Staffed with one physician and one APP daily
• Seven days on/off; 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
