  • Schedule:  Monday - Thursday with Friday as protected time
  • Call Schedule:  1 week every 8 weeks for primary call - no outpatient clinics; Secondary call every 3 weeks
  • Practice Detail:  6 MD, 1 DO, 2 PA, 2 NP, Social worker, clinical staff:  9 RN, 14 CMA, Administrative Staff-12, Administrative and Clinical Management
  • EMR System:  Athena (outpatient), Cerner (inpatient)
  • Facility:  Dell Children's Medical Center, Ascension Seton Medical Center, Strictly Pediatrics Clinic, Far West Clinic, University Oaks Clinic
  • Location:  Austin, Texas

Responsibilities

Ascension Seton and Dell Children's Medical Group are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Pulmonology Physician to join a dynamic pulmonology team serving Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas!  New fellowship graduates or experienced physicians are encouraged to apply.  This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join an incredible group of physicians providing expert care to our rapidly growing patient population.  

 

Position Highlights:

  • Exciting opportunity to join a busy and growing USNW top 50 Pediatric Pulmonology practice in a desirable location.
  • The program serves Central Texas with outpatient clinics located throughout Austin and the Temple area.
  • Call coverage is shared amongst the providers and is currently 1 week every 8 weeks.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package available
  • Specialty clinics include Cystic Fibrosis, Aerodigestive, Neuromuscular, Severe Asthma, Sickle Cell and Sleep Medicine. 
  • There is a desire to develop Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and an Interventional Bronchoscopy program.
  • Affiliation with Dell Medical School is available with opportunities to educate and mentor medical students and pediatric residents.
  • The close proximity of the University of Texas provides opportunity for research collaboration.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board required.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMC) is a 299-bed free standing pediatric facility, Pediatric Level I Trauma Center, Level IV Epilepsy Center, Level IV NICU, Special Delivery Unit, Texas Center for Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease, and Inpatient Psychiatry Mental Health Unit.
