Overview

Carle Health's Graduate Medical Education department is seeking a dynamic physician leader to direct our efforts in growing our Neurology Residency Program in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.


Opportunity Details

 

  • Program Director will provide oversight and support future growth of our accredited Neurology Residency program. The Program Director will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice (70%). The Program Director will have 30% dedicated time for program related administrative, educational, strategic, and research initiatives.
  • Carle Foundation Hospital, a Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center serves as the primary site for clinical training.
  • With over 20 years of GME, our institution has ten high-quality, fully accredited residency training programs.
  • Clinical practice interests provide opportunity to join a robust, integrated neurosciences service line with strong physician-centered management with support from established Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Neuroradiology, and Neurosurgical teams.
  • The Carle Neuroscience Institute provides comprehensive services including Vascular Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, and Neuro-interventional services.
  • Faculty appointment, student teaching and research opportunities, and University of Illinois affiliation is available through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the nation’s first medical school with focus at the intersection of healthcare and engineering. 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Preferred candidate must be board certified in Neurology and/or subspecialty certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years faculty teaching experience with a Neurology Residency required; academic leadership experience serving in assistant/associate or program director role preferred.
  • Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publications or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees and/or educational organizations are highly encouraged to apply.
