Brown Health Medical Group has an opening for a board certified or eligible psychiatrist interested in working in an adult inpatient position.  Working at Newport Hospital, affiliated hospital of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, you will treat patients with a variety of mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and psychosis. Our programs encompass a comprehensive view of mental health that includes and integrates the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of care.

About the Position:

  • 15-bed inpatient unit
  • Patients 18 and over.  Unit accepts elderly patients depending on functional status
  • Mix of diagnoses:  psychotic disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, co-occurring substance use disorders
  • Inpatient behavioral health team includes nurses, psych techs, social workers, recreation therapist. 
  • Potential for a Brown Academic appointment
