Brown Health Medical Group the affiliated partner of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University has an opening for a cardiologist specializing cardiac electrophysiology.  The successful candidate will join a flourishing Arrhythmia Service staffing the Rhode Island and Miriam Hospitals in Providence, Rhode Island.  

About the job:

  • The Arrhythmia Service is currently staffed by 4 electrophysiologists covering a 1000 bed state-wide hospital network, with a growing service need
  • The Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute employs 35 cardiologists, ensuring a robust in-network referral base
  • New clinical leadership embraces a dynamic team-oriented approach to managing the service.  Collegiality is encouraged and expected in delivering the highest possible quality of care.
  • The Arrhythmia Service is consultative only.  There are no general cardiology service obligations, and inpatients are admitted to the cardiology service.
  • EP consult service call is one week in 5 with robust support from some of the best fellows in the country at night.  After hours visits to the hospital are rare for the attending electrophysiologists. 
  • A cadre of advanced practice providers, device technicians, clinical nurses, and pharmacists support the service, with committed resources to develop a robust team-based model to arrhythmia management in both the inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Lab time is divided equally among physicians
  • 90% of the successful candidate’s time will be clinical, with up to 10% devoted to teaching or research, depending upon interest and level of achievement.  The institute boasts a robust mentoring program for academic physicians.
  • Clinical duties include an inpatient EP consult service, an on-call rotation with minimal after hour burden, and an outpatient EP consultative office practice
  • An academic appointment to Brown University is expected commensurate with experience and qualifications

About You:

  • Board certified in Cardiology
  • Fellowship trained in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Board Certified or eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Interest in Quality Improvement preferred but not required
  • A track record of excellence in teaching and patient care in an environment that fosters diversity and inclusion.
