Radiation Oncologist – Brown University Health

Brown Health Medical Group the affiliated partner of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University has an opening for a board certified or eligible radiation oncologist. Working as part of the team at Rhode Island, The Miriam, Newport and Hasbro Children's hospitals we provide the most current cancer diagnosis and treatment options. Our world-renowned physicians and specialists form multidisciplinary teams, both in the hospitals and at the Brown University Health Cancer Institute Ambulatory Care Centers. We aspire to submit an application for NCI designation within the next 3-5 years.

About the job:

  • Join a team of 8 other physicians, 17 medical physicists and dosimetrists, 7 RNs, 1 NP, 22 radiation techs
  • Provide general radiation oncology services with the ability to develop subspecialty interests
  • Participate in tumor boards at Rhode Island, Miriam and Newport Hospitals (all located within 40 minutes of each other)
  • Brown Academic appointment with the opportunity to teach residents, medical students, engineering students, and medical physicists graduate students
  • The center treats 2,000+ new patients annually
  • Time is split .8 clinical and .2 protect research/admin time
  • Our Brachytherapy Center is one of the busiest in the country
  • Call is 1:9 week, residents take first call
  • State-of-the-art department with strong ties to engineering and public health schools
  • This is a system wide program with a robust clinical trial portfolio and strong research administrative infrastructure
  • This position is unable to support visa candidates at this time

  • Board certified or eligible physician with residency training in radiation oncology
  • Strong interest in teaching and research
  • Candidates with research interest in AI, proton therapy, and radiation/chemotherapy/immunotherapy strongly encouraged to apply
  • Interest in settling long term in the Rhode Island area
