Job Purpose: Deliver high-quality healthcare through extensive knowledge and understanding of childhood diseases and epidemiology. Establish trust with patients and families to foster professional medical relationships that focus on maintaining health, preventing diseases, and treating illnesses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate diagnoses based on technical knowledge and the child's medical history.
• Perform thorough examinations on newborns and children to monitor and document health and physical development.
• Diagnose illnesses by conducting detailed examinations and gathering information through in-depth questioning.
• Assess and treat injuries, and refer children to other specialists as needed based on their medical condition.
• Provide parents with guidance on children’s diet, exercise, and preventive healthcare.
• Recommend and interpret lab test results to identify infections or medical issues.
• Administer vaccines in compliance with government guidelines.
• Prescribe medications with clear instructions for use.
• Maintain up-to-date confidential records of children’s medical histories, including illnesses and surgeries.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in pediatric care.
• Perform related duties as required.

Licensure Requirements:

• Active South Carolina medical license with a specialty in Pediatrics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of pediatric epidemiology and infectious diseases.
• Proficient in diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Up-to-date knowledge of pediatric medications and their side effects.
• Experienced with traditional and web-based prescription systems.
• Strong active listening and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to diagnose and problem-solve effectively.
