Breast Surgical Oncologist

Join our committed breast surgeon team, which includes two non-breast surgical oncologists, one part-time general surgeon focusing on breast care, and two advanced practice providers.

Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking a breast surgeon or surgical oncologist interested in focusing on breast care to practice at our Piper Breast Center located either Abbott Northwestern Hospital (South Metro) or at on our Mercy Campus (NW Suburbs).  

This position is a full-time position including 32 patient contact hours per week plus call and rounding. (own service rounding and call only, no general surgery) 

Principle Responsibilities:  

• Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being. 

• Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities. 

• Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management. 

• May participate in peer review and quality assurance. 

• Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows. 

Job Requirements: 

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required. 

• Board certified in general surgery required. 

• Completion of a breast fellowship or surgical oncology fellowship required. 

• BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required. 

• Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain) 

• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI). 

• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges. 

• BLS required within 180 Days.
