RWJBarnabas Health and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) are seeking a Renal and Pancreas Transplant Surgeon

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a dedicated Renal and Pancreas Transplant Surgeon to join our dynamic transplant team. The ideal candidate will have completed an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship and serve as a vital member of the transplant program. Duties will include substantial clinical responsibilities, such as performing kidney transplants, pancreas transplants, and living donor nephrectomies, as well as inpatient and outpatient care.

At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, we offer compassionate and comprehensive transplant care for both adult and pediatric kidney patients. Our nationally respected transplant surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary team, including registered transplant coordinators and social workers, guide patients through every step of the transplant journey—from finding a donor to post-transplant care. We specialize in advanced, innovative living donor techniques that are available at only a few of the world’s top transplant centers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the largest kidney transplant center in the Northeastern U.S. and the 5th largest in the country, where we performed a record-breaking 396 transplants last year. Our team achieved historic milestones, including:

  • 107 kidney transplants from living donors— 8th largest living donor kidney program in the U.S.
  • 289 transplants from deceased donors, 4th largest deceased donor kidney transplant center nationwide.

We are accepting both new fellowship graduates and experienced physicians seeking to advance their career in transplant surgery!
