Chief, Child Neurology - Neurosciences Center largest/most comprehensive - MCW/Children's WI Milwaukee

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Wisconsin (CW) are seeking a visionary, innovative, and scholarly leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Child Neurology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a distinguished pediatric neurology program renowned for treating complex neurological conditions at Wisconsin’s largest children’s hospital. Our Neurosciences Center is the largest and most comprehensive in the state and Children’s Wisconsin is a nationally Recognized Level 4 Epilepsy Center – the only Level 4 freestanding pediatric epilepsy center in the state.

Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership experience and a passion for clinical innovation, education and research. Candidates must hold a MD, MD/PhD, DO, or foreign medical equivalent degree, be board certified in Pediatric Neurology (ABP/ABPN) and eligible for full unrestricted licensure to practice in the State of Wisconsin. Scholarly activities should support an appointment at the associate or full professor level.

Division of Pediatric Neurology

Striving to provide the best care for kids, the Medical College of Wisconsin’s (MCW) Division of Child Neurology, Department of Neurology exists as an academic pediatric neurology division to excel in research, teaching, and patient care. Our dedicated team of 14 physicians, ten residents, four physician assistants, five nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals, provide consultative care to children with a wide variety of neurological disorders in a tertiary care setting that includes a dedicated 21-bed pediatric neuroscience unit.

In addition to our neurology specialists, patients benefit from the expertise of pediatric neurosurgeons, pediatric neuropsychologists, pediatric neuroradiologists, pediatric physiatrists, and pediatric anesthesiologists along with our proximity all adult specialties which ensures seamless care as a patient transition from pediatric to adult care. We serve the eastern portion of Wisconsin, Upper Peninsula of Michigan as well as the northern portion of Illinois. We also have patients who travel from across the country and internationally to see our providers.

Education

Faculty and staff are actively engaged in the education and development of the next generation of Clinical and Academic Child Neurologists through our thriving Child Neurology ACGME accredited residency program and our newly created Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship, one of less than a dozen programs nationally offering a similar model of care and clinical expertise. 

Research

Research is a priority for the Child Neurology Division. We benefit from strong and expanding research investments and collaborations with the Children’s Wisconsin Research Institute that represents the most powerful concentration of pediatric research in the region, including nearly 1,000 active clinical studies and approximately $25 million in active extramural grants annually.
