• Practice Detail: Ascension Medical Group is looking for a full-time, Cardiology Electrophysiologist for Ascension Medical Group Heart Rhythm Institute. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide cardiology electrophysiology services for patients at Ascension Heart Rhythm Institute in Roseville, Michigan and St. Clair Shores, Michigan. As a part of our team, you will work collaboratively alongside another experienced EP Cardiologist, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and a skilled support staff.

Responsibilities

Position Highlights:

• Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
• Call schedule is shared with the other EP physician within the practice
• There is built-in volume and well-established referral patterns with an opportunity to grow your own panel of patients
• Work closely with our team of healthcare professionals, including Cardiologists and Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons, to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.

Responsibilities: 

• Inpatient rounding is at Ascension St. John Hospital, Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus and one other near-by hospital during the week of call. 
• The APP rounds independently at Ascension St. John Hospital. 
• Clinical procedures include devices and ablations (no structural procedures). Device implants include pacemakers and defibrillators. Procedures include right and left sided ablations.

• Ascension St. John Hospital was founded in 1952 and is a regional referral teaching hospital. 
• We provide comprehensive accredited training to over 200 resident physicians, 30 fellows, and 56 core medical students in accordance with ACGME requirements. 
• Level I Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure Center accreditation 
• Certified Stroke Center with advanced certification by the Joint Commission. We specialize in neuro-endovascular treatments for acute stroke.
•  Named a Blue Distinction Center in both cardiovascular and orthopedic care by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network
• Averaging 28,000 admissions, 3,000 births, 15,000 inpatient/outpatient surgeries and over 105,000 ER visits annually

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications: 

• Completion of an accredited Cardiology fellowship program 
• Completion of an accredited Cardiology Electrophysiology fellowship program
• BC in Cardiology and Cardiology Electrophysiology required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and a dedication to clinical excellence
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties as required
