Position Overview:
The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine is seeking passionate and dedicated Hospitalists to join the Division of General Internal Medicine. This role is ideal for those eager to engage in teaching, patient care, and groundbreaking health services research in a highly ranked academic center. The academic hospitalist group is expanding, providing numerous opportunities for faculty to teach students, residents, and advanced practice providers, as well as participate in innovative research projects.

Variety of Clinical Settings:
The Hospitalist team delivers services across multiple locations, including the university’s tertiary hospital, an associated community hospital, the Iowa City VA hospital, and a post-acute care rehabilitation hospital. We also provide periopeartive/consultative services across campuses.

The selected candidates will practice in Hospital Medicine and play a lead inpatient role in the multidisciplinary care team. They will have a significant role in teaching, mentoring, and participating in scholarly activities.
We are recruiting part-time and full-time physicians at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in the Clinical Track, commensurate with experience and training. We will also consider candidates for an Instructor (non-track) appointment.
