Position Overview:

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) at the Permian Basin School of Medicine is excited to invite applications for Child, Adolescent, General, and Forensic Psychiatrists to join our innovative and dedicated team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized psychiatric care across a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and forensic environments. Our ideal candidates will be committed to delivering high-quality mental health services to patients of all ages, from children and adolescents to adults. The role will also involve engaging in research, education, and administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
  • Diagnose and treat disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

General Psychiatry (Inpatient and Outpatient):

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations for adult patients.
  • Diagnose and manage conditions including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
  • Provide crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies.
  • Create and implement treatment plans with medication management and psychotherapy.

Forensic Psychiatry:

  • Conduct forensic psychiatric assessments related to competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and risk evaluations.
  • Prepare detailed forensic reports and provide expert testimony in legal settings.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to offer psychiatric insights in criminal cases.
