Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 to 5, no weekends or holidays; open for both fulltime and part time
Patient Volume: 20-25 patients per day (includes acute, chronic, tele visits)
General Summary of Duties: Provide comprehensive physical assessment. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat new and existing patient’s medical conditions. Initiate and interpret possible lab and x-rays. Perform medical and minor surgical procedures in an austere environment as needed. Prescribe and refer patients for specialized consultation. Coordinate the activities of patient care. Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records. Evaluate a patient’s symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them. Prescribe medications in compliance with state and federal statutes and inform patients of all possible risks, complications, and interference with other medications they may be taking. Supervise and evaluate Medical Assistants to ensure full compliance with regulations and make sure that the current care program is as effective as possible. Consult patients on topics such as proper nutrition, fitness, and hygiene to assist them in making informed decisions and taking good care of their health. Perform emergency and life-saving procedures if needed.
Supervision Received: Reports to Administrative Body.
Supervision Exercised: Medical Assistant, LPN, and Mid-Level Providers as required.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves bending, stooping, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift 30 pounds or more with assistance. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluid.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a medical office environment. Involves use of the telephone and computer. Some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparation and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in using various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures. Skill in maintaining relationships with patients, medical staff , and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.
