Trauma Surgery Position on Coastal Virginia  

10 shifts/month

We are seeking a surgeon with trauma experience to join Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia. CHKD is Virginia’s only freestanding children’s hospital and the heart of a comprehensive pediatric healthcare system that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to children. CHKD’s primary service area encompasses southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, a region that is home to approximately 500,000 children.

Position Highlights

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
• Excellent quality of life only working 10 consecutive night shifts per month (relocation is optional)
• Join 2 trauma night surgeons, 6.6 pediatric surgeons, and 7 APPs 
• In-house position with 24/7 resident coverage
• Large catchment area with the pediatric trauma team averaging 1,000+ evaluations per year
• Trauma experience required
• $350,000 base salary, relocation allowance, and attractive benefit package
