Internal Medicine Faculty/Physician on Beautiful North Carolina Coast

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington NC, in partnership with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, is recruiting a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member to be part of our dynamic team. The NHNHRMC Internal Medicine Residency Program is part of an innovative learner-centered academic program supporting 23 internal medicine residents. NHNHRMC is a branch campus of the UNC SOM supporting thirty full-time third-year medical students and additional acting interns.

A successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, a passion for education, and interest in teaching in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates must be ABIM Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine, eligible for licensure in the state of NC and have an interest/experience in scholarly efforts (QI/LEAN or research).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of residents and medical students in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, typically 2/3:1/3 inpatient:outpatient. He or she will have a private half day clinic embedded within the resident clinic. Additional requirements include attending one weekend per four-week block, phone call one night each week, mentoring of residents and medical students, and regular bedside teaching and core curriculum lectures. The successful candidate should demonstrate dedication to undergraduate and graduate medical education and be a role model of professionalism.
