Orthopedic Surgeon Position - Mercy Health Springfield, OH

Join a great team!  Orthopedic Surgeon Opportunity – Mercy Health, Springfield OH

We are seeking a board certified/board eligible orthopedic surgeon to join our busy practice and absorb an established patient panel.   Springfield is located between Dayton and Columbus, OH and offers living options including small city, suburban, small town, rural or an easy commute from a metropolitan area.

Highlights:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries related to the musculoskeletal system.
  • Surgical and non-surgical options to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
  • Contribute to health promotion and disease prevention programs to enhance overall patient outcomes.
  • Ensure the latest advancements in orthopedic care are integrated into the practice.
  • X-ray on site in the practice
  • EPIC EMR
  • CMA, LPN, and Nurse Navigator practice support
  • Typical day would include:
    • A mix of patient care, surgery, and administrative tasks.
    • Reviewing patient charts and prepping for scheduled surgeries.
    • Procedures, such as joint replacements, fracture repairs, or arthroscopic surgeries
    • Seeing patients in the clinic, conducting examinations, diagnosing conditions, and discussing treatment options, including both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
    • Follow-up care to post-operative patients to monitor recovery and adjust treatment plans as needed.
    • Consultation with other medical professionals, review imaging studies, and update patient records.
    • Dedicated to teaching residents, participating in medical research, or attending meetings related to hospital administration or patient care protocols.
    • End of day - review the outcomes of surgeries, plan for upcoming cases, and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Average patient load is 18-22/day
  • Shared call 1:4 with two employed providers and contracted orthopedic group
