Why Lamar?

Residents enjoy all the benefits of small-town living, like good schools and a close-knit community – even a drive-in movie theater. But it’s the 200-acre lake (stocked, of course), thriving industry and commitment to a high quality of life that really makes Lamar a special town and a great place to raise a family.

It’s a town steeped in history – President Harry S. Truman was born here and Wyatt Earp’s career began here – that’s embracing the world of today, with a new 4,000-foot runway, a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor aquatic center and more. All this plus the low cost of living and local amenities make Lamar a wonderful place to call home.
