JOB TITLE: Staff Physician
DAY SHIFT: 0.4 FTE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
- Board certified or eligible in relevant medical specialty consistent with Cameron Medical Staff rules, regulations and bylaws.
- Current medical license to practice in the State of Indiana.
- Additional certification as needed including but not limited to Department of Transportation.
- Current DEA certificate without restrictions.
- Must successfully complete Cameron Hospital’s credentialing process.
- Occupational Health experience a plus but not necessary.
JOB SUMMARY
Provides quality comprehensive out-patient health care services to Urgent Care patients. Reports clinical issues related to the delivery of medical care to the Medical Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Proficient in email and obtaining other resources i.e. inspect and electronic health record applications as implemented by Cameron Hospital.
- Displays excellent customer service via fact-to-face contact or telephone. Advises nursing staff of appropriate response to patient phone calls.
- Regular reliable attendance.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor toward Cameron Urgent Care staff.
- Renders professional, competent medical care, performs an examination, determines a diagnosis, orders prescriptive medication (as indicated) and treats patient’s medical concerns appropriately.
- Completes patient medical record documentation efficiently and accurately in EPIC.
- Maintains efficient productivity standards and patient flow.
- Consults with patient’s family physician as necessary. Refers patients for specialty care services, lab and x-ray that are pertinent for the patient’s management and care.
- Reviews lab and x-ray reports on a timely basis and makes appropriate medical management decisions.
- Follows Cameron Hospital/Urgent Care established policies and procedures for clinical practices, including Quality, Safety, Environmental and Infection Prevention standards.
- Mentors clinical staff and offer feedback on any concerns regarding their performance to the Medial Director.
- Audits the Physician’s Assistant charts including 100% of all Medicaid and private pay patients within the 3-day time frame in the Medical Director’s absence or at their request.
- Assist the Director to assure adequate physician coverage during all hours of operation.
