The St. Louis University Department of Surgery is seeking a 3rd general thoracic surgeon for our expanding and busy program. The applicant must have expertise in all facets of general thoracic surgery. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Job Details

• The applicant will be a member of the St Louis University Department of Surgery, and faculty of the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

• Excellent financial package! Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.

• Guaranteed base salary and bonuses available

• Position is sign-on bonus eligible

• The thoracic surgery program oversees the SSM-St Louis Lung Cancer Screening program across 6 hospitals in our region (>6000 screenings performed/year), and has excellent nursing and NP support, including an intake navigation program.

• Within the SSM Health system, we provide inpatient care at Saint Louis University Hospital and St. Mary's - Richmond Heights, which includes the supervision and training of general surgery residents, and the education of medical students at both locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Program

• Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible

• Ability to obtain Missouri license

• Minimally invasive or robotic surgery skills in general thoracic surgery

Facility Description

SLUCare s more than 600 faculty, other academic medical professionals, and staff are now a dedicated academic physician division within SSM Health St. Louis and continue their work as researchers and educators. They collaborate with SSM Health Medical Group s more than 600 community-based providers to deliver care at more than 50 physician office locations, as well as through comprehensive virtual and digital health services.

Saint Louis University Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital are part of the St. Louis University School of Medicine/SLUCare Physician Group. In addition to these two facilities, SSM Health includes 5 community hospitals in the St. Louis area.
