Job Summary:
The University of Central Florida/HCA Florida Healthcare (Greater Orlando/Osceola) Emergency Medicine Residency Program is inviting applications for the role of Director of Scholarship/Core Faculty.
Our residency program is based at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, a prominent teaching facility for UCF College of Medicine. The hospital hosts a range of residency programs including Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, Transitional Year, General Surgery, and of course, Emergency Medicine.
Our department boasts a robust academic presence within the UCF/HCA Florida Healthcare consortium, with a significant record of research and presentations at national meetings such as SAEM, CORD, and ACEP. We provide a dedicated research infrastructure, complete with a biostatistician and multiple data analysts, alongside personalized support for manuscript preparation and submission to academic journals. Our educational program is innovative and cutting-edge, featuring a state-of-the-art simulation center and four EM fellowship programs in EMS, Emergency Ultrasound, Simulation, and MedicalEducation.As part of this role, you will promote and support the research and scholarly activities of both faculty and residents, providing mentorship and assistance in developing research abstracts, posters, and manuscripts. Additionally, you will coordinate and monitor residency research projects and oversee the residency research and evidence-based medicine curriculum. Furthermore, you will perform other duties associated with core faculty responsibilities.
Qualified Candidates:
- Two years prior Core Faculty experience in an Emergency Medicine Residency and/or,
- Emergency Medicine Research Experience and/or,
- Completion of a Research Fellowship
