We are a not-for-profit organization, operated for the public benefit. Formed in 1981 through the consolidation of three community hospitals, United Health Services employs more than 6,000 people. As a teaching hospital affiliated with the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and the Binghamton University Health Sciences Center, United Health Services Hospitals trains over 75 physicians per year in residency and fellowship programs.

Teaching opportunities are available with the UHS Family Practice and Internal Medicine residents, Geriatrics and Sports Medicine fellows, transitional year students, as well as 3rd and 4th year medical students on rotation from Upstate Medical University.
Greater Binghamton is situated between the Catskills and the Finger Lakes in the Southern Tier of upstate New York. Broome County combines small-town charm with the cultural attractions of a major city. The birthplace of IBM and Link flight simulators, it is home to Binghamton University, the premier public university in the Northeast.
The “Triple Cities” of Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott form the centerpiece of the region, which consistently receives high quality-of-life ratings from national surveys, and is especially noteworthy for its proud and diverse ethnic heritage.
