Emergency Medicine Physician in Ottumwa, Iowa

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is a 120-bed facility with a 17-bed emergency department (ED) and an annual volume of 20,000 visits. The center is equipped with advanced practice clinician (APC) coverage for 12 hours daily and benefits from a robust hospitalist program. As a Level IV trauma center, the ED sees moderate acuity cases and has an admission rate of 9%. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech, and the ED is supported by scribes and an EMS base station. Specialty backup is available in various fields including cardiology, surgery, neurology, OB/Gyn, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry, and urology.

Position Requirements:

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Primary Care with Emergency Department experience (ABFM)
• Leadership experience is preferred
• J1 visa candidates will be considered
• Preference for candidates with an Iowa medical license, though we will consider those residing in other states who are willing to commute
