Deborah Heart and Lung Center, a nationally recognized quaternary care heart and vascular specialty hospital, is seeking a talented physician leader to further develop its growing advanced heart failure program.

About Deborah Heart and Lung Center: Deborah Heart and Lung Center is home to New Jersey’s oldest cardiac surgery program and is committed to the highest quality patient-centered cardiovascular care. Our multidisciplinary programs in interventional and structural cardiology, vascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology, and mechanical circulatory support rank within the top 10% nationally. Deborah’s comprehensive CHF program has experienced significant growth across all areas, including a robust destination LVAD program. The program is supported by an integrated cardiovascular imaging department offering advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT, and MRI.

Position Overview: The Medical Director, Advanced Heart Failure will oversee current clinical activities and develop new opportunities for advanced care and growth within the program. This position involves close collaboration with dyad administrative partners in both cardiology and surgery. The Medical Director will be responsible for the program’s operational, financial, regulatory, and quality performance, as well as strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance current program clinical activities.
  • Develop new opportunities for advanced heart disease care and program growth.
  • Manage operational, financial, regulatory, and quality performance.
  • Collaborate with other medical directors and administrators within a matrixed structure.
  • Potentially engage in clinical research activities.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in cardiology and advanced CHF.
  • Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment.
  • Interest or background in clinical research is desirable.
