The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonology and Critical Care, is seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Hypertension/Pulmonary Proceduralist to join our team at a prestigious tertiary care teaching hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to our group of Interventional Pulmonary and Advanced Bronchoscopic diagnostics by performing advanced procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical and Procedural Duties:

  • Perform advanced pulmonary procedures
  • Collaborate with an established clinical and research Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center at the University
  • Provide medical care on inpatient service and ambulatory clinics to general pulmonary and pulmonary vascular patients
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Teaching and Education:

  • Provide education and training to Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellows
  • Participate in Department and Division educational activities as allowed by the established schedule

Research and Development:

  • Contribute to research through clinical trials, translational research, implementation science and other acceptable methods

Mission Support:

  • Support the mission of delivering the highest quality of care
  • Fulfill teaching, research, and academic responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary Medicine fellowship from an ACGME accredited program, with board certification/board eligibility in Pulmonary Diseases
  •  Expertise in performing advanced pulmonary procedures and experience in providing comprehensive pulmonary care with clinical skills in advanced diagnostic procedures, therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign and malignant disease, and management of pleural disease
  • Strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
