Assistant/Associate Professor level (Clinical Scholar Pathway) of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

The Robert Larner MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and The University of Vermont Medical Center are leaders in patient care, medical education and research.  The Department of Medicine has initiated a search for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (Clinical Scholar Pathway) in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  We are seeking an outstanding physician/scientist-leader with a commitment to clinical care, medical education, and research.

 

The Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Section consists of a highly collaborative team that includes a dedicated nurse practioner and nurse. Block OR time is used to perform advanced procedures including rigid bronchoscopies leveraging multiple therapeutic modalities (Nd:Yag and holmium laser, argon-plasma coagulation, cryotherapy, stent placement, etc), robotic bronchoscopy (with intraoperative cone-beam CT), endobronchial valve placement, and pleuroscopy. Faculty in IP staff the Interventional Pulmonary Clinic, Lung Multidisciplinary Clinic, and the Complex Thoracic Disease Clinic (in collaboration with Thoracic Surgery). Academic research (industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials, quality and implementation science, and/or translational research) is encouraged and ample opportunities are available within the IP section, the PCCM division, the Vermont Lung Center, and through other multidisciplinary collaboration.  Potential faculty would be expected to contribute to the educational mission of the Larner College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center.  Opportunities for additional training and career advancement in education exist through the Teaching Academy.  Applicants must be BC/BE in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology.
