Duke University School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry seeks board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrists for Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Services at Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, and Duke Raleigh Hospital. Your role as a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist is pivotal, impacting our patients' lives in several key ways:

  • Clinical Consultations: Provide specialized consultation for hospitalized patients, addressing complex psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
  • Interdisciplinary Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary evaluations and interventions, demonstrating expertise in managing diverse psychiatric disorders. Collaborate closely with primary teams toensure integrated and holistic patient care.
  • Mentorship: Guide and inspire the next generation of medical professionals, including psychiatry residents and health professions students during their rotations.

Scholarly Pursuits: Engage in scholarly activities supported by the institution, driving research and innovation in psychiatry. Stay current with advancements and best practices in consultation liaison psychiatry.

Who You Are:

  • Certified Excellence: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, preferably specializing in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Medicine-Psychiatry, or experienced with medically complex patients with psychiatric comorbidities.
  • Experienced Practitioner: Demonstrated proficiency in psychiatric practice within hospital
  • Communicator and Leader: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, dedicated to academic and clinical excellence.
