Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician in Coastal Charleston, SC

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in coastal Charleston, SC, seeks an exceptional pediatric infectious diseases physician to join a small but dedicated group of physicians looking forward to growing and developing the division over the next few years. The Division of Infectious Diseases resides within a highly collaborative and academically diverse Department of Pediatrics and also enjoys a close working relationship with the Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine.

 

MUSC Department of Pediatrics houses more than 31 pediatric specialties and has become a hub for patient care for the surrounding area. In 2020 we opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital which is a 100k square foot, 250 bed state of the art building in downtown Charleston. We are also home to the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute which is the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas and one of only 15 like it in the country.

 

Supporting the stand-alone Children’s Hospital is the Summey Medical Pavilion which is a Children’s dedicated outpatient medical building that offers specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion, labs, pharmacy, and urgent care all in one location. It’s been designed exclusively for children and offers hassle free parking and easy access from major roadways and bus transit lines.

 

 Ideal Candidates:

  • MD, MD-PhD, DO
  • Board-certified/-eligible pediatric infectious diseases specialist
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based medicine in teaching and practice
  • Candidates with expertise and/or interest in solid organ transplant and/or hematopoietic cell transplant infectious diseases and the immunocompromised host are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates seeking a combined position in pediatric and adult infectious diseases will be considered
