Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) – Department of Surgery strives towards the mission to provide excellence in health care to humankind through education, research, patient care, and service. This is accomplished with honesty, integrity, compassion, and intellectual curiosity.

As part of the TTUHSC team, in partnership with University Medical Center (UMC), you can expect:

  • To provide pediatric surgical and trauma call coverage at UMC Children’s Hospital.  University Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center, and the UMC Children’s Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center, making this hospital system the only one in 400 miles to hold both distinctions.
  • Call Schedule – 14 days on/14 days off.
  • To perform pediatric surgical consults and follow-up care in the clinic.  
  • To provide teaching and training to surgical residents and medical students.


Required:
MD/DO/MBBS
Completion of, or in the process of completing, a Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery
Board Eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible, in Pediatric Surgery
Ability to obtain a TX medical license


Preferred:
Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery
Active TX medical license
