Brief Description

As a urologist and officer on the U.S. Army healthcare team, you will be at the forefront of advanced procedures, work in state-of-the-art medical facilities with some of the most innovative equipment used in your specialty. You will lead a well-trained team who examine, diagnose and evaluate a course of surgeries and treatments for a diverse patient base, while feeling none of the distractions found in a civilian practice, such as office management, malpractice or overhead.

Army Reserve (Part-time)

  • Loan Repayment: Receive $250,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP).
  • Incentive Pay: $51,000 paid annually for 2, 3, or 4 years. Must have completed a residency program in your specialty.
  • Specialized Training Assistance: Monthly stipend while enrolled in an accredited residency program. Recipients must be a U.S. citizen and will serve in the Army Reserve after completing residency.
  • Insurance: Low-cost comprehensive healthcare and dental plans for you and your family.
  • Travel opportunities, to include humanitarian missions.
  • Flexible retirement plan for 20 years of service.

Requirements Include

  • Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residence (Reserve only).
