Hospitalist Medical Director in Texas: Join Our Physician-Owned Group

IES, Integrative Emergency Services, is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Medical Director to lead our established group at St. Luke’s Health Brazosport Hospital. 

This hospital is located on a beautiful, 25-acre campus in Lake Jackson, Texas. Offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and comprehensive treatment services, this facility is home to a 154-bed patient tower, advanced cardiac care center, and a full-service multidisciplinary cancer center. 

Medical Director Role

• Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the Hospitalist service
• Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
• Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers
• Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high quality care
• Manage the quality improvement plan including attending regular meetings and review of medical records
• Assure departmental compliance with JCAHO standards
• Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership

Required Qualifications

• BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician
• Texas medical license or eligible to obtain
• DEA
• ACLS
• Minimum of 3-5 years Hospitalist experience
• Medical Director experience required

Hospitalist Service

• Encounters per Day: 45-55 (including admissions)
• Admissions per Day: 10-12
• Staffing:
• Days:  2 Physicians & 2 APPs
• Nights:  1 Physician
• Shifts:
• Days: 6a - 6p
• Nights: 6p - 6a
• 7-on/7-off schedule
• Procedures:   
• Not required 
• Respond to Codes:  Yes 
• EMR: Meditech (version 6)
• Dictation: Dragon
