Opportunity in Virginia! Psychiatrist (Geriatric)

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital is looking for full-time in-patient psychiatrists.  The successful candidate will have a high level of knowledge and skill in general psychiatry; ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines; interest in working with geriatric mental illnesses. The individual in this role will provide psychiatric care at the primary and secondary levels to patients, provide direct psychiatric interventions, follow-ups and consultations to patients on other designated units as requested. This position is also responsible for providing brief monthly psychiatric evaluations to patients scheduled for routine team review.

PGH is a 123-bed psychiatric facility that serves individuals over the age of 65. We are operated by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and have been awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. We are located within a reasonable distance to shopping and entertainment in the metro Richmond area, the Town of Farmville, and the City of Lynchburg.
