0.5 FTE at Froedtert West Bend Hospital (Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine)

0.5 FTE at Zablocki Veterans Affair Medical Center (ICU)

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin offers an opportunity for a board eligible/board certified physician to work in a community setting with outpatient clinics and in our adjacent 64-bed hospital facility located in West Bend, Wisconsin.  Additional ICU in-patient coverage will be at the Zablocki Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Join us in transforming health care and connecting communities as we provide exceptional care to diverse communities in southeastern Wisconsin!

Areas of responsibility for this position consist of primarily outpatient work.  Inpatient responsibilities will be in a community-hospital and VA setting.  Inpatient care includes but is not limited to a non-tertiary level, 6 bed ICU and inpatient pulmonary consultations.  The position will consist of modest office hours, call rotation of 1:4 with weekend coverage and support from the hospitalist with co-management on ICU patients.   We also utilize virtual nocturnal ICU coverage, with very limited after-hours critical care needs, allowing us to offer an outstanding balance and quality of life.  A PFT lab and sleep center is onsite, and procedures such as central lines, intubation, and thoracentesis are optional, but available.    The open ICU allows hospitalists to see selected patients without critical care consult mandated unless critically ill requiring vasopressor support or mechanical invasive or non-invasive ventilation.

Sleep medicine may be helpful though not necessary.  Critical care certifications not mandated due to limited ICU responsibilities.  Student teaching opportunities are available.

Position is available with growth of practice and one provider reducing.
