  • Completion of a Family Practice or Internal Medicine residency program
    · Board certification or board eligible (Certification will be required)
    · Open to new grads
    · Must be ACLS certified
    · Provide inpatient care and consultations
    · Will accept admissions for all outpatient physicians/providers and patients who do not have a primary care provider
    · Participate in the 24/7 hospital call coverage for the Internal Medicine department & consults in the emergency department and for other
    specialties
    · Call: Physician will provide onsite call during the day, they can take call from home at night via phone. Physician needs to be within 30
    minutes of the hospital in case they are called and need to return to the facility
    · Seven (7) nights are usually covered by Nurse Practitioner with physician backup from home – very few telephone calls & will rarely need to
    come in at night on scheduled week
    · Full-time APN provides assistance in the hospital during the day shift Monday-Friday. (APN works 10 or 12 hours shifts)
    · Four (4) IM/FP call team physicians rotate coming to the hospital every morning to cover their own patients.
  • Daily Census 30-35 with APN providing assistance during the day and call team physician assisting in the AM.
    · Procedures = Ventilator management, intubations, central lines
    · Responsible for responding to Rapid Assessment Team (RAT) calls on the floors. ER providers respond to Code Blue calls
    · ICU rounding on 6 bed Open ICU
    · 24 hour pharmacy & Radiology support. Lab and x-ray services on site
    · No multi-organ failure-stabilize and transfer
    · Major trauma is sent out

About Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital

King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana, has been caring for the community for over 120 years, and opened its primary campus and 86-bed, acute-care hospital in 2013. Norton Healthcare purchased the hospital in early 2022 and renamed it Norton King’s Daughters’ Health. It is Norton Healthcare’s sixth hospital and its first outside of Louisville, Kentucky. King’s Daughters’ Hospital was established in 1899 and has since grown into a regional health center. It serves residents throughout southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky. Its additional services include an outpatient rehabilitation center, home health and hospice services, a convenient care center and an award-winning cancer treatment center affiliated with Norton Cancer Institute.
