The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Addictions Psychiatrist who will join the team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, providing consultative and liaison services, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center.
About the Position:
This individual will be accountable to the various educational, research, and clinical initiatives that will further advance the division.
In partnership with the Opioid Treatment Services Medical Director, the individual will provide expertise and leadership to the multi-disciplinary team engaged in direct patient care services.
Collaborate widely across the organization in order to promote educational endeavors, organize research initiatives, seek and acquire grants, and encourage publications and presentations in various nationally recognized venues.
Participate in departmental activities, faculty meetings and other hospital and medical school committees as assigned and continuing education activities.
Participating in weekend call and continuous performance improvement.
Scholarly and research activities in areas of your interests and expertise that support the Department’s mission are encouraged. These are often generally related to your clinical or teaching interests and may be quality initiatives or support of departmental research projects.
Required Qualifications:
MD/DO or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited residency program.
ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry preferred. Will also consider applicants with ASAM board certification/board eligibility.
Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri.
Work Experience:
Addictions experience required.
This full-time position will secure a faculty appointment with rank commensurate with the applicant’s experience.
