Advocate Health—the third largest nonprofit healthcare system in the country--invites Pediatric Physicians to discover a new and exciting way to practice Primary Care through our Virtual Services Group, affiliated with Atrium Health Levine Children’s in the SE Region and Advocate-Aurora Children’s in the Midwest Region!

We are seeking six BC/BE Pediatricians with at least 3 years of practice experience to join us in launching our new virtual services group, including Virtual Primary Care and Urgent Care Virtual Visit programs. Our virtualist pediatricians will care for the rapidly growing communities across the Advocate Health footprint, including NC, SC, GA, IL, and WI.

Position Details:

• Virtual Services Group (VSG): Building upon our thriving virtual urgent care and school-based practices, Children’s VSG is a new “practice” providing traditional Pediatric Primary Care in a new and innovative manner.
• • Enterprise Virtual Primary Care (VPC): While many will ask “how can you practice primary care virtually”, we believe it is possible to perform most pediatric primary care services by redesigning the services we currently provide and adding those we would love to have the time and structure to provide our patients. There will always be a need for in-person care, but many of the services we deliver can be done well through virtual technology. Imagine attending a WCV virtually with an extender in the room with your patient, acting as your hands for the physical exam. Envision the additional and personalized services we can provide to each patient through a virtual team—nutrition counseling, parent education, virtual house calls, chronic disease management, lactation support, behavioral health consultation, etc. All these things can be possible in addition to the acute care “sick visits” we are already performing virtually. This program, as well as Virtual Urgent Care services (below), will be the two primary responsibilities of a virtualist physician.

• Enterprise Virtual Urgent Care Visits: The virtualist physician team will be responsible for urgent care video visits across our geographic footprint. Common conditions include upper respiratory infections, rashes, allergies, conjunctivitis, etc.

• Employment is shift-based, with each clinician working 32 hours per week on a rotating basis.
• Some weekend shifts are expected (1 weekend every 3 weeks).
• Shifts are daytime only (no overnight shifts).
