VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) is an integrated health care delivery system, offering a comprehensive array of medical, surgical, rehabilitative, mental health and extended care to Veterans in Northern California.
The Sports Medicine Physician – Located in Stockton, CA, is a needed member of the Interdisciplinary Amputee Clinic Team and Rehabilitation Service Team providing support in the delivery of care for our veterans. They participate in Service Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement, and Quality Management activities as directed by the supervisor/ PM&R Service Chief. Provides patient care in the Polytrauma/TBI clinic, other clinics as determined by departmental need, as well as by the providers' procedural skills and interest (e.g. procedure clinic including use of ultrasound), including occasional inpatient consults and care. In addition to performing direct patient care, the provider must be able to act as a physician leader, providing physician level clinical leadership and guidance in clinical settings.

Physical Requirements: Applicants must meet physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to placement is required. This is a designated drug testing position. After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use. Requires lifting 15–44 pounds; pushing (approx. 2 hours); reaching above shoulder; use of fingers and both hands; walking and standing from 3-5 hours and kneeling. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. You must have depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors. A hearing aid is permitted.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay: $240,000-$300,000 annually- competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
