As an Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical - General Surgery, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, shaping the next generation of surgeons, and advancing clinical and academic practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-, post-, and intraoperative care for patients.
  • Perform advanced open and laparoscopic surgeries across diverse general surgery domains.
  • Develop a robust clinical and academic general surgery practice.
  • Teach and mentor surgical residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Oversee outpatient offices and clinics, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
  • Offer on-call coverage and support services, including rehabilitation, nutrition, psychological support, and prevention programs.

Primary Areas of Expertise

This position encompasses the management of surgical conditions in the following areas:

  • Alimentary tract
  • Abdomen and contents
  • Breast, skin, and soft tissue
  • Head and neck surgery, including trauma, vascular, and oncologic disorders
  • Vascular and endocrine systems
  • Surgical oncology, including multimodal cancer management
  • Trauma management and comprehensive critical care

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates must possess specialized knowledge and experience in:

  • Diagnosing and managing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
  • Providing complete care for critically ill patients in emergency and ICU settings.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed a one-year fellowship in a surgical specialty.
  • Eligibility for a Florida Medical License and DEA License.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in open and laparoscopic surgery.
