The Department of Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, a teaching and tertiary care hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time Chief of Rheumatology.  The medical center is academically affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine.

The Department is seeking a candidate who is collaborative, with strong clinical and communication skills and experience in teamwork. The candidate will have an active clinical practice and provide leadership and support to the administrative and educational efforts for rheumatology in the Department of Medicine. The candidate must have a special interest in medical education. The candidate will be expected to provide outpatient and inpatient consultative rheumatological services, coordinate care with referring primary care providers, and work closely with other medical and surgical specialists. Expertise in all aspects of rheumatology is desired.

St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center is a teaching hospital with a longstanding commitment to undergraduate and graduate medical education. The Department of Medicine houses a vibrant internal medicine residency program. The candidate must possess strong teaching skills and is also expected to serve as Rheumatology Specialty Education Coordinator for the internal medicine residency program.

Applicant must be Board eligible/certified in Rheumatology. The position features an academic faculty appointment at Boston University School of Medicine and/or Tufts University School of Medicine, commensurate with background.  Applicant should possess a license to practice medicine in Massachusetts by the time the appointment starts. 

This is a full time, hospital-based, employed position.
