Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, has a full time faculty position opening for a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) subspecialist who will join the team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center. 

Applicants should be fellowship trained and have demonstrable clinical and surgical experience in complex gynecologic disorders.  New graduates are encouraged to apply.

About the position: 

The new faculty member will provide surgical and non-surgical consultations for benign gynecologic disorders, such as endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain, often for medically and surgically complicated patients.  They will also serve as a core member of the educational faculty and provide clinical, didactic, and simulation training for the residents and medical students, participate in research, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.  There are shared GYN call responsibilities, but no Obstetric call is required. 

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology includes over 40 faculty and advanced practice providers in the Specialist, MIGS, FPMRS, GYN ONC, REI, and MFM Divisions.  The Department includes an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowships in GYN Oncology and Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Qualifications:

-MD/DO

-Successful completion of:

  • 4-year ACGME approved OB/GYN residency training
  • 2-year AAGL Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

-Board Certified in OB/GYN or Active Candidate for certification

-Eligible for KS/MO Medical License

Salary/Academic Rank:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
