Preferred candidates will have experience with epilepsy surgery, and interest in developing cutting edge surgical approaches for epilepsy.  Hartford HealthCare has a longstanding reputation as innovators in surgery, recently extending that with implementation of high-frequency ultrasound for movement disorders.  An epileptologist partner is sought to partner with our epilepsy neurosurgeons to advance care in areas such as radio-frequency ablation, ultrasound treatment for seizures, and other newly emerging approaches.

About the Epilepsy Center at the HHC Ayer Neuroscience Institute:

The Epilepsy Center at Hartford HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute’s approach to care is a supportive, multidisciplinary care model.  Our team includes 8 epileptologists and 3 neurosurgeons. We are a warm and welcoming group of people with a very collaborative mindset. We enjoy a private practice approach in the clinic balanced by academic program structures.  The UConn neurology residency program clinical training is based at Hartford Hospital and the program director is one of our epileptologists.  Furthermore, HHC offers excellent infrastructure for research and has multiple clinical collaborations with technology companies.  As epilepsy specialists we meet regularly to discuss complex cases, review EEGs, discuss journal articles, and share ideas.
