Position Summary:
The General Surgeon will treat patients who require general surgical procedures to remedy a variety of conditions. Responsibilities will include consulting with patients, discussing treatment options, treating patients, overseeing aftercare and physical therapy, and coordinating with other specialists, when necessary. The General Surgeon must be able to perform various surgical procedures. The General Surgeon is responsible for completing all duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- A Medical degree from an accredited institution required.
- Successful completion of a residency and fellowship in general surgery is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year general surgeon experience in a rigorous environment required.
- Required Licensure/Certification(s):
- License to practice medicine in the State of New Mexico required.
- Board Certification (or board eligible) is required.
- Other appropriate licensure to practice medicine preferred.

- Evaluates the psychosocial and safety needs of the patient and /or family members.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously
- Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance
- Maintains all required licenses and certifications. Submits updated verifications to Human Resources
(HR) upon receipt of updated documentation.
